Nellie Dixon grew up in Laurinburg, North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Bennett College (Greensboro, NC) and a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI).
Nellie enjoyed a variety of careers including journalist, college professor, marketing manager, entrepreneur and non-profit executive.
She retired to North Carolina’s Outer Banks in 2012 with the intention of walking on the beach and editing some of the hundreds of journal entries she had written over the decades. Instead, the mystery writing bug bit her. She has authored one novel, Midnight Mayhem: A Lana Madison Mystery, and is busily working on a sequel and an essay collection.
